asked the Assistant Postmaster-General (1) whether the new corporation which it is proposed is to operate commercial television will itself be permitted to produce programmes in competition with the programme companies;

(2) whether the proposed programme companies will be permitted to televise children's programmes containing advertisements.

Mr. Gammans

I would ask the hon. Member to await the publication of the Television Bill.

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General for how long the Government proposes to conduct its experimental approach to the question of commercial television.

Mr. Gammans

As long as experience demands.
