HC Deb 21 December 1954 vol 535 c269W
97. Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Minister of Health if his attention has been drawn to the need for close co-ordination between the three Government Departments concerned with the treatment, education and employment of spastics; and if he will arrange for an inter-Departmental inquiry to be held and recommendations to be made about any possible improvements in regard to such co-ordination.

Miss Hornsby-Smith

The need for furthering the present co-ordination of the Departments concerned is already well recognised, and it is one of the matters under consideration by the Committee now sitting under the chairmanship of Lord Piercy, which includes representatives of those Departments. My right hon. Friend sees no reason, therefore, for any separate inquiry.
