81. Mr. Lewis

asked the President of the Board of Trade to grant import licences to business firms, other than the Newsprint Supply Company, for the import of newsprint from China.

Mr. Low

I do not consider that it would be advantageous for a change to be made now in the arrangements which have existed since shortly after import licensing started, whereby the Newsprint Supply Company imports newsprint on behalf of all users of imported newsprint.
