§ 75. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Secretary of State for War (1) if, in considering a new military legal code for the British Army, he will take into account at each stage on their merits the solutions not only of the English legal system, but also of the Scottish legal system;
(2) if, in considering any future changes in the Army Act, he will take steps to define the various military offences which may be charged and the defences available to persons who may be charged with such offences; and, in doing so, if he will incorporate, on their merits, the provisions of the relevant Scottish law as well as those of the relevant English law.
§ Mr. F. MacleanThe hon. and learned Member will now have studied the new Army Bill which is, as my right hon. Friend undertook on 12th November, drafted on the lines of the Report by the Select Committee on the Army Act and Air Force Act, without any alteration of policy or principle.
