§ 57. Mr. Noel-Bakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, in making further United Kingdom contributions for the economic development of underdeveloped territories, in pursuance of Article III of the Manila Pact, Her Majesty's Government will seek to ensure that this work is carried on through the United Nations specialised agencies and under the direction of the United Nations Technical Assistance Board.
§ Mr. TurtonMy right hon. Friend in his speech on the Manila Treaty on 8th November stressed the importance of carefully co-ordinating the various economic efforts which are now being made. He had in mind in saying this the work 209W of the United Nations specialised agencies and the United Nations Technical Assistance Programme, as well as the Colombo Plan and the Point 4 Programme.
