§ Mr. Joynson-HicksOutput during the last two months has been below expectations, but distributed stocks on 4th December were 17.1 million tons. The National Coal Board and the miners' leaders are doing all they can to secure the earliest possible recovery of output but, as my right hon. Friend has already informed the House, the Government have arranged for a substantial quantity of imports to maintain supplies during the winter.
