HC Deb 20 December 1954 vol 535 c208W
48. Mr. Ian Winterbottom

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will now change the policy of Her Majesty's Government towards the Inter-Governmental Committee for European Migration, in view of the fact that its constitution has been ratified by 17 nations and has entered into force.

Lord John Hope

No. My right hon. Friend regrets that financial considerations still make it impossible for the United Kingdom to become a member.
