The following is the answerRadar devices for assisting landing in poor visibility are in operation at civil aerodromes in the United Kingdom as follows:—

  1. (1) Full Ground Control Approach Systems (G.C.A.) providing precision glide path facilities—
    • London Airport.
    • Prestwick.
    • Manchester.
    • Belfast (Nutts Corner).
    • Bournemouth (Hurn).
    • Bovingdon (operated by the United States Air Force).
    • Blackbushe (operated by the United States Air Force).
  2. (2) Decca Approach Radar—
    • Newcastle (Woolsington).
    • Lydd (Ferryfield).
  3. (3) E.K. Cole Radar—
    • Southend
  4. (4) Search Radar—
    • Jersey.
