102. Sir I. Clark Hutchisonasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what progress is being made with the provision of a new road to the north of Turnhouse Aerodrome to take the place of that section of trunk road A9 which is now closed to traffic.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterWork on the new road cannot begin until its alignment has been settled by an order to be made under Section 2 (5) of the Supplies and Services (Defence Purposes) Act, 1951. The precise line of the route is still under consideration with a view to ensuring that it shall be economical and satisfactory.
