HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 cc120-1W
101. Mr. Hubbard

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Works, as representing the Lord President of the Council, if he has any further information regarding the inquiry into the relationship between lung cancer and air pollution.

Mr. Bevins

Investigations into the possible realtionship between the incidence of lung cancer and exposure to atmospheric pollution are at present being sponsored by the Medical Research Council and the British Empire Cancer Campaign. These investigations are necessarily of a long-term nature and I regret that no estimate can at present be made of the date of their conclusion.
