HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 c118W
93. Mr. Blenkinsop

asked the Minister of Works what action he proposes to take to abolish the nuisance caused by the emission of black smoke from chimneys on Government buildings in Whitehall.

Mr. Bevins

My hon. Friend is gradually replacing open fires and unsatisfactory central heating installations. Seven buildings have already been connected to the district heating scheme; more will be connected in due course.
