HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 cc137-8W
Mr. Lewis

asked the Prime Minister what further discussions he has had recently with Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery on the question of the telegram which he sent in 1945; whether this telegram is now available; and whether he will publish the text in HANSARD.

The Prime Minister

The situation about my telegram has not changed since I made my last statement on the subject on 7th December in answer to a Question by the hon. Member for Newcastle-under-Lyme (Mr. Swingler). I am not prepared to burden the House with accounts of private conversations I have with anybody. I cannot recall any precedent for such demands among Members of Parliament.
