HC Deb 14 December 1954 vol 535 c119W
95. Mr. Donnelly

asked the Minister of Works whether he is aware of the damage to houses and farms in Pembrokeshire caused by the recent gale; and what steps he has taken to make available labour and materials for the purpose of temporary repairs.

Mr. Birch

With the co-operation of building contractors in the county my Director for Wales was able to offer immediate help to the local authorities. Most of them were able to deal with the situation with the resources available on their housing sites. My Department was able to lend tarpaulins to Haverfordwest and Tenby and arrange for supplies of slates to be available.
