asked the Minister of Health the number of people in South Wales certified as suffering from tuberculosis who have been waiting for six months or longer for admission to a sanatorium; and what action is being taken to reduce the waiting period.

258; every effort is being made to increase the number of hospital beds available for these patients and to recruit additional nursing staff. Facilities for thoracic surgery are being improved and two new surgical units are being established at Chepstow and Newport.
