§ 76. Mr. Peter Smithersasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he will include Hampshire in the clean area which he proposes to declare shortly under the Live Poultry (Restrictions) Order, 1954, in view of the fact that, as shown by his Department's figures, Hampshire is cleaner than any of the six adjoining counties proposed to be included in the order.
Mr. AmoryThe proposed extension of the clean area does not include Hampshire. I have taken account of all relevant factors including the incidence and history of the disease in Hampshire and elsewhere and also ate need to avoid undue interference with the freedom of poultry keepers in the rest of the country to trade in live poultry. I will, however keep the matter under review
