HC Deb 09 April 1954 vol 526 c86W
Mr. Coldrick

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he has considered plans submitted to him to make a major airport in Bristol; and if he will state his policy on the matter.

Mr. Profumo

Proposals have been submitted to my right hon. Friend for the development of Lulsgate Bottom aerodrome as a national airport. He has intimated to the Bristol Corporation that he is prepared to lease Lulsgate Bottom to them for development as their airport and my Department and the Corporation are discussing the financial implications of this together with terms for the derequisitioning of Whitchurch aerodrome.
