§ 81. Mr. Andersonasked the Undersecretary of State for Air the date the Haverigg, Millom, aerodrome, was reopened, and the amount expended in making the aerodrome suitable for 43W operational work; the date this aerodrome is to be closed and the reasons for this decision; and for what purpose the buildings are going to be used after the closure.
Mr. Ward£317,000 was spent on reconditioning this station, when it was reopened on 1st September, 1952, as a ground training establishment. Owing to changes in the rearmament programme it is no longer needed for this purpose, and we are considering whether it should be put to some other Royal Air Force use or closed down.
