§ 77. Mr. Storeyasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether, in view of the fact that both Portsmouth City Council and Stretford Borough Council have refused to consider the application for a house of Mr. L. H. Benians, until lately a regimental sergeant major with 28 years' service, in the light of circular 8–52, he will again advise local authorities to consider such applications on the basis of relative housing need and not of a rigid residential qualification.
