Mr. F. Harris

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what financial assistance Her Majesty's Government has given, and what further assistance is to be given, to the Kenya Government to combat Mau Mau activities, in view of the special financial burden now being carried by that Government.

The Finance Member of the Kenya Government is due here early next month and I propose then to undertake the financial review foreshadowed in my reply on 31st July last to a Question by my hon. Friend the Member for Colchester (Mr. Alport).
