HC Deb 21 October 1953 vol 518 cc263-4W
66. Mr. Dodds

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what consideration has been given during the past few months to the provision of a helicopter passenger station in London; and what progress has been made.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Agreement has been reached with the London County Council on the use of a site on the South Bank for occasional landings by existing helicopters over the period of the next few years, until the site is needed for other purposes. Progress on the selection of a permanent site must await more information on the performance of multiengined helicopters likely to be used for future commercial operations.
