§ 95. Mr. Nabarroasked the Minister of Fuel and Power the nature of his instructions to the British Electricity Authority and the Gas Council in regard to promotional advertising; and whether he has now removed all restrictions and inhibitions formerly imposed.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydI have fully discussed with the nationalised gas and electricity industries the lines on which their advertising and publicity should be conducted. I am now satisfied that it is best for the Boards themselves to have full responsibility in this matter, and I believe that they will exercise this discretion in line with the national interest. The former restrictions have accordingly ceased to apply.
