HC Deb 21 October 1953 vol 518 cc264-5W
72. Sir H. Williams

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what estimate he made of the likely reduction of staff which would follow from the abolition of the various executives of the British Transport Commission.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I made no such estimate. As I told the House on 29th July, my decision was taken in the light of advice from the Commission that the abolition of the Executives, other than London Transport Executive, would help them in the discharge of their duties.
