HC Deb 21 October 1953 vol 518 c261W
Brigadier Medlicott

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General how far it is the policy of the Post Office to ensure that at all Crown offices there is a private section of the counter provided by means of shutters for the transaction of pensions, savings and similar confidential business; and what proportion of the Crown offices are equipped in this way.

Mr. Gammans

In the past it has been the general practice, wherever possible, to provide at least one position at Crown Post Office counters with screens giving a measure of privacy, and four out of five Crown Post Offices are so fitted. If my hon. and gallant Friend has any particular case in mind and will let me have particulars, I shall be glad to make inquiry.
