§ Sir G. Hutchinsonasked the Secretary of State for War whether he will consider bringing to London a representative contingent of the Commonwealth Division, when these troops can be release from Korea, so that the people of London may be afforded an opportunity to welcome representatives of this formation.
§ Mr. HeadI have considered this proposal most carefully, but I do not think that any decision can be made until the Commonwealth Division can actually be released from Korea. Proposals would246W then have to be considered, in consultation with the other Commonwealth Governments concerned, in the light of the situation which then obtained. There have been repeated changes in units in Korea and the assembly of a truly representative contingent would consequently present many difficulties. But I can assure my hon. and learned Friend that I will bear his very interesting suggestion in mind.
