HC Deb 26 November 1953 vol 521 c89W
126. Mr. Warbey

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what success has attended the exploration undertaken by the New York Alaska Gold Dredging Company in British Guiana; and how long the exploration has been proceeding.

Mr. Lyttelton

The results of drilling by the firm indicated low values of gold with high ones sporadically placed. The company abandoned its exclusive permission on 3rd September after eight months' prospecting.
