HC Deb 26 November 1953 vol 521 c91W
131. Mr. W. T. Williams

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what regulations have been made in British Guiana, on lines customary in Great Britain, for the adequate guarding of moving machinery; and on what date they were made.

Mr. Lyttelton

A Factories Ordinance was passed in British Guiana in 1947 and its various provisions have been brought into force during the past four years. It covers the registration and inspection of factories and includes provisions for ensuring that machinery does not endanger the safety of employees.
