§ 11. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that there is still no sign marking the main entrance to London Airport and that there are no indications of the approach to the airport at the 25 yards mentioned in his reply to the Question put to him by the hon. Member for Leicester, North-West, on 28th October last.
§ Mr. ProfumoA sign five feet by one foot with "main entrance" marked in black lettering on a white ground is attached to the boundary fence, adjacent 33W to the west side of the main entrance to London Airport and facing the London direction. This is the sign to which my right hon. Friend referred in his reply of 28th October as having been down for repainting. It has remained in position since then.
§ 12. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation whether he is aware that on the direct road from St. Pancras station to London Airport there are only two signposts indicating the route to the airport and both of them are at the junction of the Great West Road and the Slough Road, which is some two-and-half miles from the airport; and whether he will arrange for all the main roads to London Airport to be adequately and clearly signposted to the airport with as little delay as possible.
§ Mr. MolsonMy right hon. Friend has in hand a new system of signposting for London which should facilitate all through journeys, including those to London Airport. There are 41 signs within a radius of five miles of the airport.
