Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies how many Africans in North Rhodesia have passed the General Education Certificate, or its equivalent, over the past three years; and how many scholarships for higher education in university or technical courses in the United Kingdom have been given in the same time.
§ Mr. LytteltonIn the years 1950 to 1952, 56 Africans passed the Cambridge School Certificate and nine were awarded scholarships for higher education in the United Kingdom, in addition to 17 in South Africa and six to Makerere.
