asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department the average cost per week of children in remand homes and approved schools.

§ Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe
The weekly cost per child in 1952/53 is estimated to have been £8 1s. 4d. in remand homes and £6 4s. 5d. in approved schools.
