Maxwell FyfeThese differences are the result of the adoption of the Oaksey Committee's recommendations that there should be increases in flat-rate police widows' pensions granted after the date of their Report in April, 1949, and in supplementary police widows' pensions granted on or after the introduction of the National Insurance Scheme on 5th July, 1948.
