108. Mr. Pryde

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation the Government's policy in regard to the maintenance of unclassified roads in counties which are not in receipt of equalisation grant.

Mr. Molson

The maintenance of unclassified roads in counties is the responsibility of county councils. The power to make grants specifically for this purpose was discontinued by the Local Government Acts of 1929.
