HC Deb 17 November 1953 vol 520 c131W
16. Mr. Hubbard

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what progress is being made in the provision of new hospital accommodation in the Kirkcaldy area.

Commander Galbraith

Progress has been made with the programme of hospital service expansion announced in my reply to the hon. Member on 25th November last, and a 100-bed extension at Stratheden Hospital may now be ready at the end of 1954. Re-arrangement of existing facilities has resulted in a significant increase in the number of surgical patients with which hospitals in the Kirkcaldy area can deal.
