§ 90. Mr. J. Johnsonasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that Southern Rhodesian employers have been illegally recruiting labour from the Gwembe district of North Rhodesia; why native authorities are allowed to aid this action, in view of the Forced Labour Convention of 1930; and what action he is taking in this matter.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe Governor has reported that there is no evidence that any illegal recruiting has been taking place in the Gwembe district. If the hon. Member will give me more precise information, I will ask for a further report.
