65. Colonel Gomme-Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for War the duties of the Welfare Specialist (Temporary) attached to the staff of the Adjutant-General to the Forces.

Mr. Head

He arranges, on medical recommendation, for relatives to visit men overseas who are dangerously ill. He also deals with difficult personal problems of other ranks and officers and keeps in touch with the voluntary organisations concerned.

66. Colonel Gomme-Duncan

asked the Secretary of State for War what time limit is proposed for the temporary appointment of the progress officer, printing, temporary, in the Department of the Permanent Under-Secretary of State.

Although the present holder of this appointment is temporary, the post is not.
