120. Mr. Murray

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he is aware that in the 12 months period to 30th September, orders for 166 ships of 510,000 tons, were received, compared with 310 ships of 1,858,000 tons in the previous year and 730 ships of 3,997,000 tons in the year to the end of September, 1951; and how Her Majesty's Government propose to meet the present situation in the shipbuilding industry.
