asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why service in British Army of the Rhine for members of the Civil Service entitles them to foreign service allowances while such service for members of the Armed Forces

a further reduction of 9,494 by 31st December, 1952. The first six months of 1953 have seen a reduction of 5,561, bringing the total reduction since 1st January, 1952, to 25,460.
