asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what progress has been made in Kenya in the setting up of a joint army-police post and telegraph wireless communications network which can give warning of Mau Mau attacks.

Mr. Hopkinson

The Government of Kenya have set up a joint committee of the Army, the police and the Posts and Telegraphs Department to review all wireless commuuication systems to make sure that they meet the needs of the emergency. The committee is studying the possibility of establishing radiotelephone communications with individual farms.
