HC Deb 21 May 1953 vol 515 cc173-4W
93. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government the statutory regulations laid down in respect of compensation and rehousing for occupants of property required to be demolished for town and country planning purposes; and to what period of notice for this purpose householders are entitled under these regulations.

Mr. Marples

The statutory provisions in respect of compensation and rehousing for occupants of property demolished under the Town and Country Planning Act, 1947, vary according to the power being invoked. If the hon. Member will let my right hon. Friend know which particular provision he has in mind my right hon. Friend will be glad to give him the information he requires.

94. Mr. Sorensen

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government, approximately, how many houses have been, or are being, demolished in connection with rehousing plans; and how many Nissen huts or other temporary accommodation structures have been, or are being, demolished up to the latest available date.

Mr. Marples

I regret that the information asked for in the first part of the Question is not available. For the second part I would refer the hon. Member to Summary Table A of the Housing Return.
