HC Deb 21 May 1953 vol 515 c175W
97. Mr. Vane

asked the Minister of Works what approximate proportion of the flagpoles used by his Department for decorative purposes in connection with the Coronation are made of home-grown timber.

Mr. Eccles

About three-quarters of the flagpoles used by my Department in connection with the decorations along the Coronation route are made from home-grown timber. Those of imported origin were either taken from stock or were of a size which could not be supplied from home-grown timber.
