HC Deb 21 May 1953 vol 515 cc172-3W
90. Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Secretary of State for War if he is aware that blast from firing from Tonfarnnau Artillery Camp, Merioneth, is causing damage to property and disturbance to invalids on the South Caernarvonshire coast; whether he will mitigate or discontinue the firing; and to what quarter claims for compensation by property owners should be addressed.

Mr. Head

I am not aware of any further complaints arising since the hon. Member raised a similar question last year. To stop or reduce firing would affect essential training. Any claims in respect of damage should be addressed to the Command Land Agent, Western Command, Chester, for consideration.
