HC Deb 19 May 1953 vol 515 c127W
Mr. Philip Bell

asked the Attorney-General when he expects to be able to announce the steps to be taken to overtake the arrears of civil cases awaiting trial at Manchester and Liverpool.

The Attorney-General

My noble Friend the Lord Chancellor and my right hon. and learned Friend the Home Secretary expect to receive very shortly the report of the Departmental Committee which they appointed to inquire into the need for the establishment in South Lancashire of a court on the lines of the Central Criminal Court. I shall be in a position to make a statement when this report has been considered.
