HC Deb 14 May 1953 vol 515 c90W
Mr. Hurd

asked the Minister of Food how much of the 6,746,000 tons of the 1952 main crop of potatoes in Great Britain is surplus to human requirements and is being offered to farmers for stock feeling; and if he will give an estimate of the cost likely to fall on his Department.

Major Lloyd George

It is not yet possible to estimate with any accuracy either the surplus or the cost of its disposal.
