HC Deb 11 May 1953 vol 515 c66W
Captain Ryder

asked the Minister of Pensions how the present rates of disability pensions in this country compare with those paid by him to British pensioners in other countries, including Commonwealth, ex-ally and ex-enemy countries, after making due allowance for wage levels and cost of living.

Mr. Amory

The amounts of disability pensions are stated in sterling in the Royal Warrant and are convertible at the rates of exchange in other countries in which the pensioner may reside. I regret that reliable information is not available to enable me to make the desired comparison with regard to wage levels and cost of living in the various countries.
