§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterReceipts of Entertainments Duty from football and cricket in 1952–53 were approximately £1.34 million and £36,000 respectively. The estimated yields for 1953–54 are about £1½ million for football and nil for cricket. Records of chargeable admission are not compiled but the estimated figure for football is in the region of 80 million a year and the corresponding figure for cricket would be about four million a year.
