HC Deb 06 May 1953 vol 515 c23W
14. Mr. Awbery

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he is aware that an official committee dealing with legislative changes in the Singapore Council has recommended that the number of elected representatives should be increased from nine to 18 before the elections of next year; and what steps he is taking to implement this recommendation.

Mr. Lyttelton

I understand that a report by the committee which the hon. Member has in mind was laid before the Singapore Legislative Council on 21st April and is at present under consideration by the Government of Singapore.
