HC Deb 04 May 1953 vol 515 c12W
Lieut.-Colonel Davenport

asked the Assistant Postmaster-General whether, before completing the proposed arrangements for the introduction of sponsored television, he will consult with the various organisaions concerned with regard to the problems which will arise in connection with the increased requirements for the services of actors, actresses, variety artistes and musicians for the provision of television entertainment programmes on Sundays.

Mr. Gammans

This will be primarily a matter between the performers and those preparing the programmes, and would, it seems to me, be appropriately dealt with in due course through the normal channels of discussion.
