asked the President of the Board of Trade the reasons for the long delay in publishing the Report of the Monopolies Commission on the match-manufacturing and match-machinery industries, which has been in his hands since October last.

The Board of Trade have had to consider under the first proviso to Section 9 of the Monopolies and Restrictive Practices (Inquiry and Control) Act, 1948, whether certain passages should be deleted from the Report on grounds of the public interest.
