§ Sir T. Mooreasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many officials are now authorised by the various Departments of the Government to enter the homes of the people without a warrant; and how this figure compares with the year 1949.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterI would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the reply given to my hon. Friend the Member for Lancaster (Mr. F. Maclean) on 11th December last, of which I am sending him a copy. This compared the figures for 83W December, 1952, with those for June, 1951. There has been no significant change since December last, and I regret that a comparable figure for 1949 is not available.
