§ Mr. Russellasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what liaison is maintained by his Department with the colonial departments of other countries which have overseas possessions or associated territories.
§ Mr. LytteltonIncreasingly close relations are maintained between officials of my Department and those of other Governments concerned with the administration of overseas territories both by correspondence and by meetings. The Commission for Technical Co-operation in Africa South of the Sahara (C.C.T.A.), in particular, provides opportunities for co-operation and liaison between governments responsible for the administration of territories in Africa South of the Sahara. The Overseas Territories Committee of the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (O.E.E.C.), on which the colonial departments of all member countries having responsibilities for overseas territories are directly represented, provides a useful link on economic questions of particular interest to these overseas territories. In addition, special arrangements exist for liaison between the Colonial Office and the Ministry of Overseas France.
