§ Mr. John MacLeodasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what grants have been made through his Department, apart from the Hill Farming and Live- 18W stock Rearing Acts, towards road repairs and maintenance in rural areas in the seven crofter counties and in Ross and Cromarty in particular.
§ Mr. J. StuartI have no general power to make grants towards the repair and maintenance of roads in the crofter counties. My powers are restricted to aiding works of construction or improvement.
